RAANI (rah-nee) is an Edmonton based pop/soul singer-songwriter.

She released her single ‘All My Ladies’ in February 2016. It received a nomination for ‘R&B/ Soul Recording of the Year’ at the 2016 Edmonton Music Awards.

Her debut self-titled EP was released in October 2014. Her single ‘Be Your Friend feat. Chips’ received a 2015 Edmonton Music Award nomination for ‘Best Pop Recording of the Year.’ It was also selected to be a featured song in the 2015 Edmonton Music Awards Compilation CD.

In September 2015, her song ‘Things I Would Do’ was featured in YEG Music Magazine’s ‘Playlist of the Week.’ Arts Talk TV aired the ‘Be Your Friend feat. Chips’ music video on Shaw TV Edmonton everyday for a week in June 2016. One of the highlights of RAANI’s EP release was a fan-made cover video of ‘Be Your Friend feat. Chips (Link to fan-made cover video).

Both ‘All My Ladies’ and ‘Be Your Friend feat. Chips’ have been added to a variety of online radio stations and have received regular features on K94.5 radio in Moncton, NB.

RAANI was one of seven artists chosen to perform at the Edmonton Unplugged Audition Show, which aired for two weeks on Shaw TV Edmonton in December 2015.

Currently she is in pre-production for the music video of her upcoming single ‘Chains’ with RandomPath Media. On June 12th and 13th, RAANI will go to Vancouver to record ‘Chains’ with Troy Samson, which will be released November 17, 2017. She was 1 of 20 songwriters selected to attend the prestigious “It All Starts With A Song” Songwriting Retreat on Bowen Island with Judy Stakee in July 2017.

“RAANI has the unique ability to maintain the delicate balance between making beautiful original art that is also accessible and marketable to the public. As a professional musician, working with an individual who understands the value of both these aspects when creating music is very refreshing.”
